Production Process of Q235A Steel Pipe

Q235A steel pipe, a widely used low-carbon structural steel product, is manufactured through a series of well-controlled production processes to ensure its mechanical performance, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality. The entire process is designed to meet the demands of construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.

The production begins with raw material selection, where high-quality billets or slabs are chosen for their chemical composition and cleanliness. These billets undergo hot rolling, where they are heated and formed into pipe shapes under high pressure and temperature. Hot rolling refines the grain structure and improves the pipe’s strength and ductility.

Next, the pipes may go through a welding process, depending on the type of pipe (e.g., ERW – Electric Resistance Welded). In this stage, the steel strip is shaped into a tube and welded longitudinally to form a closed section. The weld seam is then inspected to ensure its quality and uniformity.

After welding, the pipe is normalized or annealed to relieve internal stress and enhance its toughness. This is followed by sizing and straightening, where the pipe is adjusted to meet specific diameter and wall thickness requirements.

Finally, surface treatments such as pickling, oiling, or galvanizing are applied to improve corrosion resistance and surface appearance.
