Exporting Galvanized Steel Pipes? Make Sure You Have These 3 Certifications Ready

If you're planning to export galvanized steel pipes, having the right certifications isn't just a formality — it's a critical step to gain trust, meet import regulations, and avoid costly delays. Here are three essential certifications you should prepare before shipping:

1. Mill Test Certificate (MTC) – EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2

An MTC verifies the chemical composition and mechanical properties of your product. Most international buyers require a 3.1 certificate, signed by the manufacturer’s quality department. Some high-spec projects may demand a 3.2 certificate, which includes third-party inspection.

2. Galvanizing Compliance Certificate (ASTM A123, ISO 1461, or EN 10240)

This certifies that your galvanized steel pipes meet specific coating thickness and adhesion standards. Depending on the destination country, you may need to comply with ASTM (USA), EN (Europe), or ISO (global) standards. This is crucial for infrastructure, utility, or government projects.

3. Certificate of Origin (COO)

Required for customs clearance and often for applying trade preferences or duty reductions. The COO proves the pipes were manufactured in your country and may need to be authenticated by a local Chamber of Commerce.

Before exporting, always check destination country regulations, as requirements may vary. Being galvanized steel pipes certification-ready saves time, builds client trust, and helps us stay competitive in global markets.
